The second Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) within the state of South Dakota is being constructed at 41st Street and I-29. The DDI project is a joint effort between the SDDOT and the City of Sioux Falls to improve not only the interchange but also 41st Street and intersecting streets from west of Marion Road to east of Shirley Avenue. The DDI includes widening of the existing bridge to the north allowing traffic to continue utilizing the existing bridge throughout construction. Additional improvements to the interchange include alignment and capacity upgrades for each of the on/off ramps.
Improvements to 41st Street include new water main, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, additional capacity, lighting, and traffic signals. InfrastructureDG is completing construction administration and observation focusing on the 41st Street corridor, city utility improvements, paving, and public outreach.
